Allow Your Soul to Find Rest
Allow your soul to find rest, like true and meaningful rest my friend.
*REST = to relax, refresh, regain strength and refuel your well-being (mind, body & spirit)
This life is wild and overwhelming and sometimes feels like a never-ending battle. Sometimes we get lost in the whirlwind or the chaos and feel like we just may never make it out. We try to find rest in earthly things but nothing ever seems to truly satisfy our soul. But friends, there is good news…
Stop thinking and let your mind go quiet - take five deep, deep breathes - feel your lungs expand and connect with the incredible body you are living in - let yourself feel your emotions, your hopes, and desires. You were created with a purpose. You were handcrafted by our merciful and loving Creator, who is constantly chasing after you and your heart.
No matter your past, present or future… He wants YOU. Like how cool is that. There is nothing we could ever do to make us lose His love. We are all human. We make mistakes. We doubt time and time again. So let God come alongside and take your hand, then just lean in on His endless grace and undying love and believe.
The whirlwind you are in - it may seem impossible to get out of, it may feel like you are constantly losing the battle, that it is dragging on and you just don’t think you can handle it for another day. The battle you are in - it is not yours to fight alone - lay it down at God’s feet - let Him fight the battle for you, I promise you will the receive the grace you need to keep going at the EXACT moment you need it. I’ve doubted Him so much and yet I’m still in awe at how He continues to shows up every time with the grace I need the exact moment I need it.
Believer or unbeliever - we all face battles and sometimes we will never have an answer for them. So we believe in Him and His purpose. We put our whole heart and trust in God’s plan, which is far greater than our own plan could ever be. And even more awesome is that God formed a unique plan for each of us - nobody will have the exact same story. We are all different and unique - that’s what makes it so breath taking and unbelievable - embrace your story God wrote for you!
I challenge you to be intentional in taking the time to reflect on YOU and YOUR aspirations - not what others think you should do or where they think you should be, but what YOUR heart truly hopes for and finds joy in - God created each and every one of us - we were meant to be different, OWN who YOU are and your journey through life.
Chase after what lights YOU up.
Enjoy & embrace the season of life YOU are in.
Be proud of the growth YOU have made & be open to new opportunities that will continue to grow you.
It is all apart of your story and building you for what’s next - all you can do is YOUR best and to keep believing in Him.
Let your light radiate, lean on your community, & give yourself the same grace God gives you each and every day.
So friend, take the time to find and allow yourself to REST in HIM - I promise you won’t regret it.
A few ways to allow your soul to find rest - these are just options, do what you love and feel like works for you! It can be as simple as a nap or as strenuous as doing an intense workout! It’s all about what gives you rest and re-energizes your soul.
Keep it simple and do something that brings you JOY
Spend time in nature, go on hike, workout, go on a bike ride with a friend
Find a quiet place, watch the sunrise, be silent, mediate, open yourself up to Him and listen
Read your favorite book, listen to music, spend time with loved ones
Laugh, have fun, make memories
Give thanks, praise, worship, love on others
Lastly and most importantly… open up His word and read scripture - surrender and let God
A few verses for your soul to find rest in - there’s so many but these are just a few I have loved…
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”
Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever”
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you”
1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxieties on Him because he cares for you”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body”
Mark 6:31 “Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
Psalm 23:1-4 “The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well”
John 5:24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life”
Much love,
